Ali Nasirian presided over Art Is Alive Virtual Festival

Veteran Iranian actor Ali Nasirian is to preside over the jury of the Art Is Alive Virtual Festival.

Veteran Iranian actor Ali Nasirian has been selected to preside over the jury of the Art Is Alive Virtual Festival.

Nasirian, whose performance mostly in ‘Scent of Joseph’ and ‘The Forbidden Fruit’ has been praised by ifilm viewers, will preside over the jury of the festival. He has expressed his hope that the festival can motivate young artists to work diligently in the coronavirus era.  

The Art Is Alive Virtual Festival, which is aimed at raising hopes for the future that is facing threats from the COVID-19 pandemic, will be organized by two private art centers in Tehran.

The Final Take Culture and Art Institute and Eleven Square Center will be organizing the Art Is Alive Virtual Festival with spiritual support from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Other members of the Art Is Alive Virtual Festival also include Behrouz Gharibpour, director of the acclaimed opera puppet shows ‘Hafez’, ‘Rumi’ and ‘Ashura’, who will serve as the director the festival’s policymaking council.

Filmmaker Kamal Tabrizi will also join the team as the director of the cinema category while Gharibpur will be also in charge of the theater section.

The music section will be headed by composer Fardin Khalabari, and cinematographer Mahmoud Kalari will be the director of the digital art category of the festival.

According to the organizers of the event, the Art Is Alive Virtual Festival “is born out of the conditions COVID-19 has imposed on the world community. The new media have provided the opportunity for people crippled by the disease to escape from the depression resulting from the home quarantine.”

The event is also aimed at providing a chance for young artists to discover their hidden talents.

The first  edition of the Art Is Alive Virtual Festival will be held from February 28 to March 10, 2021 in the field of cinema, theater, music and digital art.
